Chattokee Lodge Hunting
Chattokee Lodge is unique when compared to other hunting destinations. We are not the typical hunting operation that attempts to maximize the number of hunters at any given time. Our goal is to provide you with a quality hunting/outdoor experience with the best amenities available.
We cater to groups of 10 or less depending on the quarry. Whether it is a corporate outing or a group of individuals that enjoys the outdoors together, you will have Chattokee Lodge and all amenities at your disposal, the lodge is yours. No two groups are booked simultaneously.
We have been managing wildlife on our property for 25 years and one of our most strict management tools is limited hunting pressure. For that reason, we offer a limited number of deer, dove, turkey, and waterfowl hunts and we do require either a minimum or maximum number of hunters for specific hunts.
Chattokee is a full service lodge: you need only to bring hunting gear, gun, shells, hunting license and yourself (shells and hunting license may be purchased at the lodge). Lodging, 3 meals, including a fabulous dinner, snacks and drinks for the hunt, all beverages, one round at the 5 stand sporting clays course, guides when needed, and transportation to the hunting destination are included in your stay. If you have special needs, please make us aware of them prior to your arrival.
Typically our guests arrive late afternoon before the next days hunt with the exception being the first dove season. That afternoon is spent burning a few shells at the 5 Stand, going over our safety and rule policies, relaxing, and enjoying the fellowship among your group at the lodge and winding up with a gourmet dinner.

Dove Hunting
Typically we have large numbers of Mourning Dove during the first season which begins around mid September and last 3 weeks. Chattokee Lodge offers 3 dove hunt packages the first season that consists of an afternoon shoot the day of arrival and a morning shoot the following day. . We can accommodate up to 10 guns and do require 8 for these hunts. Hunts take place on harvested corn fields, brown top millet fields, and fields sowed in winter wheat.
We have 3 split seasons in the North Zone of Alabama. Dove hunting during the second and third season can be very unpredictable and for that reason we do not book dove only hunts at these times. However we do attract large numbers of migratory birds and we encourage you to work in a dove hunt with either a quail or duck hunt when the birds are here. Additionally, we have a Dove hunt contact list where we will notify you via email of late season hunts. Please contact us if you would like to be added to the contact list.

Duck and Goose Hunting
Chattokee Lodge offers the finest wild duck and goose hunting available in this area. Our ponds are designed and built for waterfowl hunting. We typically have good populations of mallards, gadwall, teal, and wood ducks that frequent our hunting areas.
In the regular waterfowl season, we can accommodate up to 10 hunters and require a minimum of 4 to book a hunt. To limit hunting pressure, we hunt 2 days a week usually back to back which gives each of our areas 8 to 15 days rest. Most of our permanent hunting areas have 2 spacious blinds that will accommodate up to 5 people and have been built to keep you out of inclement weather.
If you prefer to strictly goose hunt, we have huge flocks of resident geese that visit our agricultural fields and the flats on Lake Weiss. We are also fortunate that Alabama offers a early goose season that typically begins September 1st with very liberal limits. Scheduling early goose hunts is dependant on the corn harvest.

Eastern Wild Turkey Hunts
We are blessed at Chattokee Lodge to be in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains where large populations of Eastern Wild Turkey call home. It would be a pleasure to be your host as you match your skills with these awesome birds. Our experienced guides will use all their knowledge and “tricks” to put a big gobbler within range of your gun or bow.
Seasoned turkey hunters who prefer to hunt alone are invited as well. We have exclusive hunting rights to all of our properties and will be glad to “fill you in” you on the land and what the birds typically do on that particular property.
Chattokee Lodge will accommodate one group up to four hunters per week for a maximum of 3 days. Alabama toms can and will become very “educated” if they are pressured and gobbling can stop. As mentioned, minimizing hunting pressure is an ongoing management tool which ensures the best chance of success.
Our turkey land consists of bottomland hardwoods, gentle rolling hills and pastures to steep ridges and hollows. With this diversity in our hunting land, we can accommodate everyone regardless of physical condition.

Quail And Pheasant Hunting
At Chattokee Lodge, we hunt both quail and pheasant on our upland bird hunts. From traditional quail hunting to our European Pheasant hunts, we are able to offer a variety of hunting styles that will test shooting skills.
Our traditional hunts will take you through planted pine plantations, hardwood bottomland, and agricultural fields with an experienced guide and well seasoned bird dogs. We offer half-day, full day, and Lodge Upland Hunts that are all inclusive. We require a minimum of 4 hunters and can accommodate up to 8 on the Lodge Upland Hunts.
If non-stop action is what you are looking for, we suggest a European Pheasant Hunt. 10 birds are released per hunter and we require a minimum of 10 shooters and can arrange a hunt for 20. Chattokee Lodge will schedule 4 European Pheasants hunts throughout the season but we can provide a hunt specifically for your group.

Whitetail Deer Hunting
Hunts are 100% fair chase; no fences or supplemental feeding, just sound deer management for 25 years. Three or four day hunts are offered with limits of one trophy buck and two does. Although Northeast Alabama is not known for "giant" bucks, our guest will have an excellant opportunity for a buck in the 125" to 140" range. Additionally, we only offer ten deer hunts a year.
