Cherokee Rock Village
There are 20 acres at Cherokee Rock Village, named for the fact that Native Americans used the area for ceremonies until they were sent off on the Trail of Tears. Now it is used by people from all over the Southeast as a climbing spot supreme.
Little River Canyon National Preserve
Little River is unique because it flows for most of its length atop Lookout Mountain in northeast Alabama. Forested uplands, waterfalls, canyon rims and bluffs, pools, boulders, and sandstone cliffs offer settings for a variety of recreational activities.
Orbix Hot Glass
In 1972, Cal Breed was born to an artist and an engineer. Cal opened a private studio and gallery, Orbix Hot Glass, atop Lookout Mountain in northeast Alabama. Today, Cal leads a team of glassblowers who hand-craft each piece with great attention to form, balance and color.
